The complex 1 was characterized by diffraction and elemental analyses. In complex 1, the cadmium ion is distorted octahedral coordinated linking the deprotonated 1,4-NDC anion to form a two-dimensional (2D) layer, and the 2D layer are associated into 3D supramolecular structure via the strong π–π stacking interactions from the conjugated L ligands.
