Numerical Investigation of the Interaction between a Shock Wave and Aqueous Foam with Compaction

A numerical study of the interaction of a blast wave with liquid foam is carried out using the system of Baer–Nunziato equations. This problem is aimed at studying the influence of the compaction mechanism on the re-reflection wave pattern. A computational algorithm based on the HLL method is developed. Comparison of the results with computational experiments by other authors shows that taking into account the compaction mechanism leads to better results.
