Emergent tracheostomy was performed to decompress intrathoracic pressure, augment venous return, and ultimately expedite the patient’s definitive cancer therapy. Conclusion: Recognition of the mediastinal pathology leading to venous obstruction may be required for the management of malignant intracranial hypertension.
