A poorly soluble substance classified to BCS class II, it was chosen as a model substance. The ionotropic gelation was the process used for the formation of microparticles. The impact of the carrier on the dissolution of MLX from this formulation was also investigated.\nStudy was realized in few steps: preparation of polymer particles containing suspended MLX in their structure; drying them in various conditions (room temperature, freeze drying); morphology characterization and then assessment of impact of polymer on dissolution of the model substance. Also, DDSolver software was used for checking the similarity of release profiles. Validated UV-Vis spectrophotometric method was used for MLX determination on different steps of work. \nAs it showed, calcium alginate particles were successfully prepared with ionotropic gelation. Preliminary assessment of influence of calcium alginate beads on the dissolution of meloxicam
The purpose of the study was to evaluate the preparation of alginate-based microparticles with meloxicam (MLX). A poorly soluble substance classified to BCS class II, it was chosen as a model substance. The ionotropic gelation was the process used for the formation of microparticles. A bimonthly appearing in English since 1994, which continues “Acta Poloniae Pharmaceutica”, whose first issue appeared in December 1937. The war halted the activity of the journal’s creators. Issuance of “Acta Poloniae Pharmaceutica” was resumed in 1947. From 1947 the journal appeared irregularly, initially as a quarterly, then a bimonthly. In the years 1963 – 1973 alongside the Polish version appeared the English edition of the journal. Starting from 1974 only works in English are published in the journal. Since 1995 the journal has been appearing very regularly in two-month intervals (six books a year). The journal publishes original works from all fields of pharmacy, summaries of postdoctoral dissertations and laboratory notes.
