Depending on the fluid, such seals tend to show a stick-slip effect, which may cause disturbing squeal noises. In order to avoid such stick-slip-noise in future systems, it is required to characterize and rate the frictional behavior of different brake fluids in an appropriate way. This paper presents a tribometer test that enables to investigate the stick-slip-effect depending on the brake fluid. For an objective evaluation, an indicator value is introduced.
