They provide readers’ entertainment and education, including about how to navigate romantic relationships. Thematic examination of 283 advice column articles published between 2000 and 2016 in two widely circulating Ghanaian newspapers was conducted to explore: (1) the scope of romantic relationship problems, and (2) the messages being transmitted about relationships, sexuality, and love. The articles comprised the following topics: (1) Commitment, (2) Communication, (3) Culture, (4) Socioeconomic Concerns; and (5) Violence.
