Studies have shown that being born SGA can interfere in aspects related to language and reported greater chances of under performance in SGA children when compared to children with appropriate size for gestational age. It was observed that the different studies did not have a uniform design, and the objectives were quite diverse. Furthermore, few of them had as focus issues related to the assessment of language, as well as the variability of instruments used to investigate this domain.
