De)construyendo los estudios del turismo y la geografía(s). Una aproximación a las mutaciones en América Latina a partir de la segunda posguerra

This paper constitutes a second order analysis that diachronically relates the field of geography and tourism from the second postwar period with emphasis on Latin America. To do this, a roadmap is established with three scales. The first one presents a brief overview of the scientific production in tourism, in order to pass, a posteriori, to characterize two different historical-contextual moments. These, without being exclusive or outdated, are characterized by having epistemological imprints related to tourism and space: they are the "hermetic-traditional" and the "socio-hermeneutical" tendencies. Finally, the third scale includes an introduction to the intra-theoretical complexity of the new trends with which tourism is approached from the geographical sciences. In this sense, it is based on the need to stimulate disciplinary reflexivity and to value the plurality of voices that make the field and that affect the way of reading, delimiting and intervening.
