Serbian Press in France during the 20th Century: Among the Cultural Diplomacy and the Information on the Diaspora

The aim of this paper is to explore, detect, describe and explain the path of Serbian press in France during the 20th century. The main hypothesis is that the press in the Serbian language was the paving stone from the cultural diplomacy to the information on the Serbian diaspora. The paper would explain how Serbian journals in French language and Serbian journals in Serbian language which were lanched in France became the paths of presentation of the Serbian people through mechanisms that would be recognized as elements of cultural diplomacy. Key issue is the role which Serbian journals played in the general circulation of men and ideas, the cultural transfers that they facilitated, as well as the hybrid identities they fostered. On the basis of contents of the journals and the reading public, as well as the intellectuals engaged in creation of the journals it would be shed light on the Serbian press in France during the 20th century.
