A sociolinguistic viewpoint in film translation can uncover the maintenance or destruction of stereotypes. To contribute to the sociolinguistic study of film translations, Disney animations Tangled (2010) and Frozen (2013) and their Persian dubbed versions were examined based on Androutsopoulos’s (2012) framework that works on both macro and micro levels of analysis. The results showed that social class was influential in allocating specific linguistic varieties to the characters in the translations.
