Storni selects those controversies which he finds the most philosophically interesting and seeks to define the difference between scientific and philosophical controversies. However, the relationship between philosophy and science in this period merits more discussion, as it was arguably less clear-cut than he claims. In addition, the study of controversies is here mainly limited to rather self-contained analyses of specific works and would benefit from more contextualization and engagement with existing studies of controversies.
