Advances in Earth Science (monthly) is a scholarly journal founded in 1986 and co-sponsored by the Northwest Institute of Ecology and Environmental Resources of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (NWIERRS) and the Department of Earth Sciences of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). The journal aims to review the current status and progress of research in earth sciences and resource and environmental sciences, reveal the development trend of interdisciplinary fields, monitor the research dynamics of emerging disciplines, and pay attention to the competitiveness and influence of international scientific research institutions.
