However, previous studies reported inconsistent findings on this interaction effect. The present study extended past research by illustrating that the interaction effect of Chinese traditional leadership and compliance is dependent on the employee's individual relationship orientation. The results show that Chinese traditional leadership × compliance × relationship orientation has a significant interaction in the prediction of employees' job performance.
