Influence of Aluminum Composition on the Magnetic Properties of Iron-Chromium Magnetic Alloy in an Alternating Magnetic Field
Iron-chromium magnetic alloy has received attention recently as a soft magnetic material that can be used in an alternating magnetic field. A technique for improving its properties by increasing the aluminum content was studied. An increase in its amplitude-relative permeability in an alternating magnetic field occurs when the aluminum composition is increased to 5% from 1%, in spite of a decrease in the amplitude-relative permeability in a direct magnetic field. The increase in aluminum content causes smaller changes in the hysteresis curve and amplitude-relative permeability with the alternating magnetic field frequency and the ring specimen thickness. As expected, these phenomena are dependent on the electrical resistivity of the material.
