Identificação do Perfil de Competências Docentes em uma Instituição Estadual de Ensino Superior

This article investigates teacher competence in an undergraduate management program at a State Institution of Higher Education, located in the state of Amazonas (Amazon), Brazil, seeking to identify these professionals’ profile within the academic context, using studies developed by Cheetham and Chivers (1996, 1998, 2000, 2005) as reference. The aim was to contribute to building a training program, focusing on the teachers’ reality, especially the complexity and lack of results dissemination in this area. We established the following overall objective: to see how teachers develop their skills and relate which skills are essential and the most important for performing academic duties. The methodology consisted of a quantitative survey using a questionnaire, with a descriptive character. This study is important because it contributes to understanding how skills were configured in the management program and how they related to the need to encourage continuing education, which can guide further studies on the subject in Higher Education Institutions in the Amazonas.
