This article aims to contribute to the knowledge of Historical Phraseology through the study of the phraseological units represented in the Cancionero (Toledo, 1516) by Pedro Manuel de Urrea. Given the extension of this capital work of the first Aragonese Renaissance, this research aims to offer a panoramic description of the phraseology used in its prose works. In order to show the outline of some diachronic and dialectal networks, the historical trajectory of the paremia ¡No quiero, no quiero! Y son como frayres, que quieren que ge lo echen en el capillo, will be specifically analyzed, as it is characterized by its dialectal projection in the Spanish of the Canary Islands. The intention is to underline, on the one hand, the constitutive link between diachronic phraseology and the history of literature and, on the other hand, the outstanding capacity of the geolectal diffusion of some phraseological units throughout the peninsular and insular linguistic geography.
