The possibilities of the project method for assessing the level of general competencies are shown. The article considers the possibilities of the project method for the formation of general competencies of students in the course of studying history in college. The importance of the formation of common competencies is briefly presented, the advantages of the project method for the formation of common competencies are revealed, and based on the experience of teaching history, the competencies formed by various types of projects are indicated. The possibilities of the project method for assessing the level of general competencies are shown.
