You know if hexavalent chromium is known as a carcinogen and the associated residues are dangerous and difficult to use. In view of this, the development of new technologies has been used to use corrosion resistant, environmentally friendly and economically viable processes. An alternative technology that can meet this need is PVD physical vapor deposition, with a spray process. In this context, this study aims to evaluate and compare the performance of aluminum coatings applied by sputtering with varnish in relation to the performance of the electrodeposited chrome coating. For that, the coatings were applied in zamak and were characterized morphologically and electrochemically.
