Pathology of genital area in men encompasses a variety of unrelated conditions. Balanitis and balanoposthitis resulting from traumatic, irritant, allergic or infective causes, manifestation of common cutaneous and general diseases, specific dermatoses of genital area and premalignant and malignant lesions can be distinguished. Normal aspects are explained because they may generate anxiety in the patient. The differences between the circumcised and uncircumcised penile skin that induce different incidence and appearance of glans and corona dermatoses are studied. Although infrequent, penile tumours induce difficult diagnosis and therapeutic challenge. The major problem is to establish early diagnosis. Sexually transmitted diseases, condylomas, herpes, genital ulcerations and uretritis are excluded from this work.
