homogenous practice models may not be able to reflect the diversity of social work practice in China. The third weakness is that because some practice models were initiated by the researchers, the services were discontinued when the research project ended. Several authors discussed how the clients returned to their status quo before the research projects. The action researchers should pay more attention to the continuity of services and their ethical obligations to clients if they decide to take on practitioner roles in the first place. In all, this book is a valuable reading on the most current development of social work practice in China. The research projects were innovative, indigenous and practical. It is inspiring to see how the Chinese social work researchers bravely undertook their missions to promote social work practice. I recommend this book to social work professionals in China who need creative ideas for developing social work practice from scratch.
