Evidence-based dental clinical practice should be based on the most recent clinical studies and involve ongoing reevaluation of all available clinical data on the efficacy and safety of dental anaesthetics. When dealing with children, it is imperative to understand the overdosage of anesthetic agents resulting in toxic reactions and soft tissue trauma inflicted due to extended spans of anesthesia and variations of technique. The anaesthesia should have minimal side effects and optimal efficacy with the fewest injections possible.
