This paper first introduces three strategies for the use of the 5G spectrum, namely spectrum dedication, spectrum re-farming, and spectrum sharing. Secondly, it introduces the three main application scenarios for the 5G spectrum, namely enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), ultrahigh reliability and ultra-low latency services (URLLC), and massive IoT communications (MTC).
