Coimbatore. Analysing whether regular treatment and awareness of diabetic mellitus help in preventing complications. Methods: A prospective study during a period of 6 months from NOVEMBER 2016-APRIL 2017 done in patients attending surgical department of GOVERNMENT MEDICAL COLLEGE AND ESI HOSPITAL, COIMBATORE. Results: On evaluating the diabetic foot ulcer patients even with regular treatment there is no change in occurance of foot ulcer as the cause is mainly hyperglycemia along with infection in the normal as well as atheromatous changes in the vascular system.
