The finite extent of the wave function along the direction of quantisation and screening due to free carriers are considered. The calculated linewidth for scattering due to deformation potential acoustic phonons show a <span><math><mtext>B</mtext><msup><mi></mi><mn><mtext>1</mtext><mtext>2</mtext></mn></msup></math></span> variation with magnetic field.
