Use of technological teaching strategies in the institute of graduate studies: Professorial lecturers’ perspectives
The COVID-19 epidemic has posed many difficulties in the field of education. Blended learning, distant education, and online learning are used by many schools and institutions. Despite the fact that many institutions have struggled to assist their students in learning, they try their best to convey the substance of the classes utilizing a variety of platforms and teaching methods. The study's goal is to see how the Institute of Graduate Studies (IGS) of the Philippine State College of Aeronautics (PhilSCA) can implement the use of technological strategies in teaching in the new normal. Its goal is to document these methods in virtual classrooms in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, evaluate suitable online teaching resources for graduate students, and come up with answers to the issues that arise in the classroom. The researchers used an interview guide to conduct phenomenological research among a homogeneous sample of 20 Professorial Lecturers in PhilSCA-IGS. Using the thematic approach, the research findings are carefully grouped, analyzed, and interpreted. The findings indicate that Kolb's experiential learning method has been proven successful in testing out different teaching methods, particularly during this new normal. Although no method is perfect, the Professorial Lecturers have applied them, recognized their use, and developed answers to issues that have arisen. Following the data analysis, the following themes emerged: a variety of online teaching materials, flexible learning, experiential learning, and collaborative methods. According to the findings, these teaching methods should be used, improved, and reviewed on a regular basis to assess and re-examine the technological teaching strategies in the virtual classroom. © 2023 Author(s).
