Ondes de surface dans un systme de deux phases fluides superposes
2014 The propagation and damping of surface waves are considered in a system of two fluid phases. At high viscosities the flow becomes aperiodic, the surface fluctuations no longer being propagated. Experimentally, the dynamics of fluctuations can be studied through inelastic scattering of coherent light. At low viscosities (periodic flow), one should observe a Brillouin doublet, while a central, undisplaced line should correspond to aperiodic flow. In order for the signal to be appreciable, one should observe the scattering in a direction near that of regular reflection (maximum shift of order one degree).
