This research aims to redefine multicultural competence using meta-analysis approach. The published papers are taken as a representative sample in the area of multicultural competence and that are closely related to the lexical item of multicultural competence. The result of the study indicated that this redefinition of multicultural competence encompasses the notion of multicultural competence both in western and non-western contexts. This study has pedagogical implications where university students who engage globally should possess global pre-requisite which is multicultural competence. 摘要

多元文化能力对大学生来说是一项重要的技能,这样他们就能够参与当地、全国和全球的活动。本研究旨在运用元分析方法重新定义多元文化能力。荟萃分析使用了过去五年在多元文化能力领域发表的重要论文。本文选取与多元文化能力词汇项目密切相关的已发表论文作为多元文化能力领域的代表性样本。研究结果表明,对多元文化能力的重新定义包含了西方和非西方语境下的多元文化能力概念。本研究对全球化大学生应具备多元文化能力这一全球先决条件具有教学意义。因此,大学可以分配正式和正常的参与项目来培养学生的多元文化能力。
