EnglishAfter examining the original phenomenality of life according to his approach, this paper focuses on the phenomenological traits of the living body, like its proximity to the I-subject (in opposition to other meanings of body), the passivity of having beginning and its opaqueness towards the phenomenologist. We compare the previous features respectively with the ‘I can’, the passivity of life’s self-affection, and the self without a name, which are central in our author for the identification of life. This poses the question whether there is a series of limitations coming from the body which are not included in Henry’s phenomenological approach. In this vein, we take account Polo’s approach to the body according to the fourth dimension of the abandonment of the mental limit.
