It is the study of microorganisms, which are organisms (such as bacteria, parasites, viruses, yeasts, molds, etc.) that are so small they can only be seen using a microscope. Food microbiology is concerned with the effects microbes or organisms can have on the quality and safety of food products. This paper presents a brief introduction on food microbiology.
