Analysis of switching electronic loads operating as active filter on a bus
The paper analyzes how the switching system of an electronic load influences the reactive power of the bus, and how they behave as active filters when connected in parallel. In laboratory, didactic electronic loads were used, both called Dimmer Flex, and the works divided into three cases. In the first case, the electronic load starts applying voltage, after half of each half-cycle, the current was interrupted and, according to the meters, reactive power was injected into the bus. In the second case, Dimmer Flex was used to break the start of the current at around half of the each half-cycle, and reactive power was absorbed from the bus. In the third case, the first device was positioned in parallel with the second, and the reactive power flow was almost completely compensated and the harmonic distortion value of the current decreased, proving its role as an active filter.
