Resumo: embora Rousseau tenha defendido a frase Vitam impedero vero com tanto fervor, sua obra e marcada por algumas afirmacoes que sugerem o contrario. Porem, bem entendidas, tais afirmacoes conduzem a ideia de que, como antidoto, a arte e a ciencia podem ser utilizadas contra seu mau e, nesse sentido, mentir e disfarcar podem virar instrumentos pedagogicos eficientes, sobretudo no processo pedagogico de formacao do homem e do cidadao.
