En la segunda examinamos el exito del estreno de esta obra el 11 de diciembre de 1924 en el Teatro Forero de Lima como el acto central del programa oficial de festejos de dicho aniversario. EnglishAbstract: Francisco Villaespesa's literary career in Spain is well known, but not his stay in America (1917-1931). In the first part of this article, we analyze the structure and characteristics of his play El Sol de Ayacucho, a poetic and epic modernist drama commissioned by the President of Peru to commemorate the centenary of the battle of Ayacucho.
