As demand for capacity increases, so must technology evolve in order to meet such demands. HTS systems have enabled operators to significantly enhance performance and with KA-SAT entering service in 2011 Eutelsat was at the forefront of this new generation of HTS systems. However, such systems are not all the same, and in order to provide flexibility not only in service, but in the mission payloads, the antenna technology behind HTS systems can be quite different. This paper examines the upcoming HTS systems that will enter Eutelsat's fleet as they continue to evolve and adapt their missions to support a variety of applications.
