Following the archaeological work done in Caceres Viejo (Casas de Millan, Caceres), we present the results and interpretations of a human occupation dated from the first half of the first century BC. Although the knowledge about this archaeological site is still limited, the vestiges of the occupation, the building architecture and the artifacts predict that it could have played a relevant role in the interactions between the two roman political groups and between romans and allies. Once classified as an Iron Age castro, until now we only testified a Late-Republican Roman occupation, undeniably verified by the presence of typical artifact from this period. Nevertheless, common ware not only prevail, but also reflect contacts and influences with communities from the Meseta. Other artifacts also allow consider a military presence in this hill which could show a possible juxtaposed relationship with the military camp of Caceres el Viejo.
