Fuel was injected \ninto the combustion chamber by a common rail system \nusing an injector with a single hole nozzle. The combusting \nspray impinged on a wall whose temperature was similar to the \ncombustion chamber gas temperature. \nResults of these experiments show variations in the flame temperature \nas a consequence of the interaction between the combusting \nspray and the wall. There is a reduction in the flame \ntemperature after impingement followed by a temperature rise \nas the wall is heated up by the flame.
