Ciência da Informação is a journal published three times a year by the Brazilian Institute for Information in Science and Technology – IBICT, organ of the National Council of Scientific and Technological Development – CNPq of the Ministry of Science and Technology – MCT. From the release of its first issue in 1972 up to 1975, the journal was published by the Brazilian Institute of Bibliography and Documentation – IBBD, having kept the half-yearly periodicity till 1991.
