While these biomarkers hold promise, they have not yet been proven to be effective in guiding HF therapy. A more developed understanding of HF mechanisms has resulted in an increased number of available pharmacologic HF therapies. In the past, biomarkers have been useful for the diagnosis and prognostication of HF.
