Abstract

Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) collaborative reception is an emerging technology in wireless communications. In this reception system, received signals from a base station are shared among neighboring multiple mobile stations (MSs). Multiple received signals can be used for decoding the MIMO signal, so the detection performance is enhanced. In particular, we consider collaborative detection schemes in order to improve the detection performance further while keeping the collaboration traffic as small as possible. Collaborative detection schemes utilize multiple decision results of multiple detection MSs. Through computer simulations, we show that a selection scheme based on decision reliability information outperforms soft combining schemes.
