Abstract

Based on analysis the principle of angle tracking system of monopulse radar, a model of angle measurement for two targets within the same beam was set up. The angle resolution process of monopulse radar was analyzed by simulation. The results show that: when the echo signal power of two targets is equal, the included angle between the two target and the radar antenna is about 0.85 beam width, Monopulse radar begin to distinguish the target of two targets within the same beam; when the echo signal power of two targets is not equal, the antenna will be biased towards the target with larger echo power. When the two targets signal power ratio is greater than 10, the antenna is nearly aligned to the target with larger echo power.
