Abstract

This paper describes a modified version of existing statistical-based stripe noise removal designed to recover noisy images without devastating the structure of the image. The proposed algorithm has been tested by using LAPAN-A2 microsatellite imagery. Based on the investigation of corrected images, it is confirmed that the proposed algorithm was capable of giving a satisfying result than that of the existing one. It is also found that the performance of the proposed algorithm is 10.21% better than that of the existing algorithm.
