Abstract
In a previous work a mixed strategy guidance law was developed for a three-dimensional end-game in a combined ECM/no-ECM scenario and a comparison of the operational efficiency of this guidance strategy with conventional missile guidance laws, such as proportional navigation and augmented proportional navigation was performed. The comparison made for a single set of engagement parameters showed that the mixed guidance strategy had better homing performance than the other guidance laws. This paper extends the validity of the comparison by a parametric investigation based on a nondimensional sensitivity analysis. The sensitivity analysis leads to a better insight on the characteristics of mixed strategy guidance and provides a generalized demonstration of its superiority over the known alternatives.
