Initial experiments are encouraging, and although a stability problem was observed, the cause has been identified and it should be readily solved. Abstract

Semiconductor radiation detectors were fabricated on single crystal wafers on indium iodide and tested both as direct radiation detectors and as optical detectors coupled to a scintillator crystal.
