Abstract

This paper presents second order sliding mode control for assuring robust performance of DC/DC Buck-Boost converter. Simple and robust control has been the driving motivation to use approximate first order model for designing super-twisting control. Initially second order uncertain model in controllable canonical form is developed to capture the dynamics of the DC/DC buck boost converter. A valid first order model is further developed. It is shown that the proposed controller assures the desired performance in terms of output regulation under variation of load, input and parameters.
