Abstract

We present in this paper, our initial attempt in wireless power transfer for powering up various movable smart objects. Power supply is a core issue for every movable smart object. Two classical solutions to power such devices are either to plug the device or to use batteries. Plugging a movable device restricts its free movement and batteries need frequent replacement once drained. Wireless charging is an alternate solution to overcome these limitations. While state-of-the-art wireless charging solutions remain for smart phones with fixed sizes, we propose in this paper, a guideline for enabling wireless charging for smart objects of arbitrary dimensions, at the space where they are normally used.
