Abstract

Coordinating multiple local power sources can restore critical loads after the major outages caused by extreme events. Maintaining radial topology after restoration is essential for distribution system, while determining the topology for online decision is a challenge. In this paper, a graph theory-based iterative heuristic method to determine the radial topology applied in distribution system restoration is proposed. The proposed method is validated by one snapshot and multi-period critical distribution system restoration models on different cases. The case studies indic ate that the proposed method can determine radial topology in a few seconds and ensure the restoration capacity.
