Abstract

During data replication in a decentralized P2P network, transactions that broadcast updates from different peers run concurrently on the destination peer replica. This phenomenon has always been at the origin of transaction and data conflicts. The goal of this work is to introduce an effective approach for serializing asynchronous updates using a synchronizer-mediator. So, to solve this aforesaid problem, the following approaches were used: the audit log technique to capture change data; the algorithmic method for designing algorithms and the statistical method to analyse their performances and thus deduce the models of the prediction of the execution time as a function of the other factors. On the basis of these algorithms, the prototyping succeeded in setting up a software system in C# to finally conduct a flow of experiments showing that they were effective. Thus, the assumption that “ The execution time of replication transactions is totally dependent on independent factors has been confirmed.
