Abstract
In recent years, with the development of electronic industry, metallic elliptic waveguide has been paid more and more attention in the field of communication because of their many advantages in microwave transmission. However, due to the complexity of elliptic waveguide, the study of waveguide wall current is always one of the hot spots and difficulties in this field. In this paper, the method of electromagnetic theory derivation and fitting is used. Mathieu function is obtained by separating variables in the elliptic coordinate system, and the field structure in the waveguide is solved by Longitudinal Field Method. Then, the wall current distribution is obtained through the boundary conditions. The results are simulated, analyzed and discussed. The method presented in this paper is helpful for the application of elliptical waveguide, especially for the design of the relevant devices.
