Abstract
Many theoretical approaches have been made in order to find simple solution for the quasistationary electromagnetic field of a horizontal conductor over a semiinfinite conducting solid. The solution is not however satisfactory in case of conductors located in the vicinity of a conducting plate of finite thickness. The paper presents an approach to EMI problems for conductors located parallel to the conducting plane shield of small thickness comparable with the depth of penetration of the electromagnetic wave at the frequency of 50 Hz. Results of the analysis can be applied to calculating screening effects of conducting walls and housings. The considerations presented are based on assumptions that the permeability of the steel plate is constant, the radius of the conductor is small compared with the height of the conductor above the plate and that the system examined is infinitely long in direction of the conductor. The exemplary calculation is presented in the paper
