Abstract

In this paper, a bandpass filter using improved composite right/left-handed (CRLH) mushroom resonators based on the cascaded quadruplet (CQ) cross-coupling structure is proposed. First, etched split ring resonators (SRR) have been added at the ground plane of the mushroom structure for miniaturization. Then, by employing the CQ cross-coupling structure, transmission zeros have been created to increase the out-of-band rejection. The filter is fabricated and measured, and the measurements are in good agreement with the theoretical analysis. The proposed filter has applications in microwave circuits and modern wireless communication systems.
