Análisis histórico de la elección vocacional como concepto

Abstract

El objetivo de esta comunicación es analizar históricamente la elección vocacional como un concepto. Para alcanzar el objetivo empleamos el método histórico de análisis de conceptos, considerando dos momentos fundamentales: la Antigüedad y la Modernidad. Como resultado de este análisis ubicamos en la Modernidad el surgimiento de la elección vocacional como un galimatías conceptual que jalonea entre la autodeterminación individual, supuestamente atribuida al alumno, y la pervivencia de un discurso de la vocación en la cual el sujeto es elegido y ordenado por otro, en este caso el orientador. Se termina el trabajo revisando las ventajas de aclarar el campo de los estudios profesionales evitando el uso del término elección vocacional. Historical analysis of vocational choice as a concept ABSTRACT The objective of this communication is to analyze historically the vocational choice as a concept. To achieve the objective, we use the historical method of concept analysis, considering two fundamental moments: Antiquity and Modernity. As a result of this analysis, we locate in Modernity the emergence of vocational choice as a conceptual gibberish that marks between individual self-determination, supposedly attributed to the student, and the survival of a vocation discourse in which the subject is chosen and ordered by another, in this case the counselor. The work ends by reviewing the advantages of clarifying the field of professional studies avoiding the use of the term vocational choice.
